Within minutes, the ALEX® system generates a comprehensive, step-by-step water treatment prescription customized specifically to your pool’s water needs. Our water care technicians will review the print out with you to ensure you understand and answer any of your questions about the prescription.

How to Collect a Proper Pool Water Sample

For the most accurate test results, follow these simple steps when collecting your pool water sample:

1. Circulate Your Pool First: Ensure your filtration pump has been running continuously for at least 48 hours before taking your sample to guarantee even chemical distribution.
2. Test Strip Water At Home:  Confirm your sanitizer reading is below 8ppm before bringing in a water sample.  High sanitizer levels can provide inaccurate results and we will not provide a full test for your sample.
3. Sample Depth: Reach down about elbow-deep (12 to 18 inches below the surface) in the deep end of the pool, away from return jets or skimmer intakes.
4. Use a Clean Container: Collect your sample in a clean plastic water or pop bottle or an official R&R Pools water testing container. Avoid using juice, sauce, dairy or pickle bottles, as residual food or soap traces skew chemical readings.
5. Bring It In Quickly: Bring your water sample to our store within 2 to 4 hours of collection, keeping it out of direct sunlight and high heat.
