Common FAQ’s

FAQs About Investment & Payments

Why is a large portion due before construction begins?
Materials, scheduling, and coordination are secured in advance, and some specifically for your project. This structure ensures your project moves forward without delays and helps avoid pricing or availability issues.
Can pricing change after I approve my quote?
Due to market volatility, pricing for materials, freight, and subcontracted work can change. Final invoices reflect pricing at the time items are sourced or installed. We work to minimize increases wherever possible.
How long is my quote valid for?
Quotes are valid for 30 days or until supplier pricing changes, whichever comes first.
What responsibilities could fall outside the scope of the quote?
Unless otherwise specified, homeowners are responsible for: 1. Property lines and verification 2. Building permit and Lot grading permits (if required) 3. Underground services 4. Landscaping and final site finishing
What happens if the deposit is not received in full upfront?
Any remaining deposit amount will be required before ordering materials or approximately two months before your scheduled start.
What happens if there are changes during the project?
Any changes to the original scope are treated as change orders and are priced and approved before work proceeds.
What if the project is delayed into the next season?
If your project is delayed due to seasonal timing, material availability, or coordination with other contractors, the work completed to date will be invoiced and is due at that time. The remaining balance will carry forward into the next phase of the project.
What happens if payment is not made on time?
Timely payment is required to keep your project on schedule. If payment is not received within 7 days, we reserve the right to take appropriate action, including placing a lien on the property until the balance is paid.

FAQs About Project Stages

Will all of these stages happen one after another?
Not always. Many steps overlap as different trades move through the project. This is normal and helps keep the project moving efficiently.
Is the process different for fiberglass and vinyl pools?
Yes. Fiberglass pools are delivered and installed as a finished shell, while vinyl pools are built on site and finished with a liner. While the steps differ, the overall timeline and flow are similar.
What is the most disruptive part of the project?
Excavation and initial installation are typically the most active stages. After that, the work becomes more controlled and detail-focused.
Why does the order of some steps change?
Scheduling, weather, and material availability can shift the order of certain stages. We adjust as needed to keep your project moving forward efficiently.

FAQs About Timing & Scheduling

Will my yard be affected during construction?
Yes. Access for equipment and materials will impact the surrounding area during installation. We take care to minimize disruption, but some temporary impact is a part of the process.
Why isn’t work happening every day?
Pool construction happens in stages with different trades. Gaps between work periods are normal and allow for proper coordination, material delivery, and scheduling.
Can weather or materials delay my project?
Yes. Weather and material availability are two of the biggest factors that can impact timelines.
How will I know what’s happening next?
We communicate updates throughout the project and will let you know when the next stage is scheduled.
Why are multiple projects happening at once?
Managing multiple projects at different stages allows us to schedule trades efficiently and keep all projects moving forward.

FAQs About Meetings

Do both homeowners need to attend?
Yes. These meetings cover key decisions, operations, and maintenance. Having both homeowners present ensures everything is clearly understood.
What happens if we can’t attend one of the meetings?
Let us know in advance. We will work with you to reschedule or adjust as needed.
Can decisions be made after construction begins?
Some decisions can be adjusted, but finalizing selections early helps avoid delays and additional costs.
What happens if decisions are delayed?
Timely decisions are important to keep your project on schedule. Delays in selections or approvals may impact timing and scheduling.

FAQs About Permits

Do you handle permits for me?
In most cases, yes. Permits are typically included as part of your project, so we can manage the process and avoid delays. If you prefer to handle it yourself, we will guide you through what’s required.
What is a lot grading permit?
Some properties require a lot grading plan to ensure proper drainage and compliance with municipal requirements. This is determined based on your location.
What happens if there is an issue with the permit?
Applying early allows time to address any issues. We will work with you to resolve them so your project can proceed.
Do I need a separate permit for decking?
In-ground pool decking is typically considered ground-level and does not require a separate permit. Requirements can vary, and we will guide you based on your municipality.

FAQs About Site Conditions

What happens if rock or poor soil is found?
If rock, unstable soil, or other ground conditions are encountered, we will review the situation with you and recommend the best approach to properly prepare the site. This may include additional excavation, removal, or ground preparation.
What if you hit a stump, old structure, or buried concrete?
These are common in many backyards. We will assess the condition and determine the best way to remove or work around it so the project can move forward properly.
What if a septic line or underground service is encountered?
Homeowners are responsible for identifying septic systems and underground services in advance. If something unexpected is uncovered, we will work with you to determine the best next step as quickly as possible.
Why can’t all of this be known ahead of time?
Some site conditions are simply not visible until excavation begins. This is typical during construction and is accounted for in how projects are managed.

FAQs About Landscaping & Drainage

Will my yard be fully finished?
If landscaping is included in your quote, we will complete that scope. If not, the area will be left ready for landscaping to follow.
Is final grading or drainage included?
Not always. Final grading and drainage compliance may require additional work and are only included if outlined in your quote.

FAQs About Subcontractors

Why do you use the same subcontractors?
Consistency, quality, and efficiency. Our partners understand our expectations and help ensure your project runs smoothly.
Do I need to coordinate with subcontractors?
No. In most cases, we manage all subcontractors on your behalf.

FAQs About Allowances

Can allowance pricing change?
Yes. Final pricing is based on current market conditions at the time of installation.

FAQs About Safety Covers

Will my deck crack during installation?
Minor surface cracking, chipping, or stone cracks can occur during installation and are considered normal.

FAQs About Communication

Can I reach out after hours?
Yes. Email is always monitored and will be responded to during business hours.

FAQs About Aftercare

Will you help maintain my pool after installation?
Yes. We offer both full-service support and guidance for homeowners who prefer to manage their pool independently.
