We’ve been building and servicing pools in Nova Scotia for over 40 years. As a local, family-run business, we understand how Nova Scotians use their backyards, what holds up in our climate, and what it takes to support a pool long after it’s installed.
Choosing a pool builder is not just about who can create the nicest design on paper. It is about who understands the entire life of the pool, from the first dig to the first swim, the first opening, the first closing, and every season after that.
At R&R Pools, our construction, service, and retail teams work together. That means your pool is not just built to look good on install day. It is built with long-term care, access, equipment, water quality, and serviceability in mind.
We think about how your pool will be maintained, opened, closed, and cared for before construction begins.
Our build, service, and retail teams are connected, so homeowners are not left trying to figure out what comes next after installation.
From water testing and maintenance products to openings, closings, and service, we are here beyond the construction phase.
Every backyard is different. Access, grading, drainage, layout, family needs and long term maintenance all matter. These featured projects show how we help homeowners move from idea to finished pool with experience, planning and support behind the process.
Homeowner Goal: Create a backyard space to enjoy the water comfortably at home, with a pool that fits into everyday life and brings family together without needing to travel.
Our outcome was a backyard built around the water, designed for everyday living and time with family. This vinyl pool has become a natural focal point on the property, whether it’s being used or simply enjoyed from inside the home. It fits easily into their lifestyle, something they can use when they want, without it feeling like work, and they know they have a team they can rely on for ongoing pool service and support.
Were there any obstacles/challenges to overcome during your install?
“I’m in the Peggy’s Cove area, where there’s a ton of rock. When you drive down the road, all you see is rock. R&R knew that going in, and they have good partners. I was not aware of any problems except for one big rock they ran into, and I know they’re prepared for stuff like that. I was impressed with how smooth the installation was and I guess if you’ve put in as many pools as they have, they’ve likely seen it all and handle it.”
Homeowner Goal: Create a backyard where family and friends could gather, relax, and make the most of Nova Scotia summers without always having to leave home.
Our outcome was a backyard that naturally brings people together. It’s where the kids, family, and friends spend their time all summer, but it works just as well for quiet evenings at home. The pool feels like a natural extension of the house, not something added later, and they know they have a team to rely on whenever they need support.
Were there any obstacles/challenges to overcome during your install?
“No. And I knew that if something did arise, they would have an action plan or a solution. They’re very good at communicating some of the ‘what-ifs’ so I felt prepared. Our pool shed, for instance, wasn’t going to be finished in time so they made a temporary system while it was being completed, and that was definitely a relief for us. They are problem-solvers, for sure!”
Homeowner Goal: Create a backyard space that felt calm, private, and meaningful. Something close to home that could be used every day for relaxing, unwinding, and enjoying time together.
Our outcome was a private backyard retreat built for everyday living. This fiberglass pool creates a calm, low-maintenance space to relax, swim, and unwind at home. From morning swims to quiet evenings, it’s become part of their daily routine, with a process that felt smooth, well-managed, and fully supported from start to finish.
